Tested and Tried

In heaven the angels were tested and tried

Along came Lucifer who deceived and lied

Out of heaven they were cast, him and his kind

Because they reasoned within their own mind

They disobeyed God and chose their own way

Because of this they had a price to pay

God created heaven and He created earth

He knew someday man would be given birth

He created Adam and gave him life

He then made Eve to be Adam’s wife

He placed them in a garden to live holy and free

And He planted in their midst a forbidden tree

In the garden they were tested and tried

Along came Lucifer who deceived and lied

They disobeyed God and ate of the tree

Then discovered they were naked as can be

From their loving God they tried to hide

By this time they knew Lucifer had lied

From out of the Garden they were cast

To make their own way, which was a task

Because of their forbidden dinner

You, and I, were born a sinner

You can see the effects of sin

It affects us all, even our kin

Lucifer comes to seek and enslave

Jesus comes to seek and to save

Jesus came to live on this earth

To pave the way for our rebirth

Jesus left this earth one day

But he came back in another way

On this earth we are tested and tried

Don’t listen to Lucifer, too often he’s lied

Obey God and you will see

He has a place prepared for you and me

We will live forever in his glory

And this is not just another bedtime story

From heaven we will never be cast out

If we obey God and choose his route
