Selfishness

Selfishness is what it’s all about.

    Lucifer got selfish and from Heaven was cast out.

His sin did not effect just him alone.

    His followers also had to leave the throne.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned

    Then man’s trouble on earth really began.

Their sin effected them and their paradise place.

    It also effected the whole human race.

Eve obeyed Satan and thought he meant well

    Could it be, she never heard of a place called Hell?

Sin is selfish as selfish can be

    Sin caused Jesus to hang on a tree.

If Adam and Eve ate not from the forbidden tree

    There would have been no need for Calvary

If Lucifer had obeyed God and done well

    There would be no need for fire, brimstone, or Hell

Selfishness carries a great cost

    It causes one to be forever lost

With God he has no commune

    And his life sings a different tune.
