Meet The Editor: No doubt some who have received and read past issues of the View From the Lighthouse have no prior knowledge of it’s editor or it’s intent. So to correct this oversight please allow us to introduce ourselves. The editor, Michael Brigmond, age 46, (in early 1996) was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues for over an hour Nov.12, 1972. Our editor is also the pastor of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church located in Kissimmee, FL. The church, in it’s 5th year, was started in true Apostolic fashion in the pastor’s home and has grown from there. The church is strong in Apostolic doctrine, fully believing, teaching and living the message of Acts 2:38 and holiness, both inside and out, with a strong commitment to prayer and Bible study. We believe in the power of the Blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse and forgive sin, the operation of the gifts of the Spirit, and the necessity of possessing and exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit. The mission of this paper is three-fold:
We have no "bones to pick" with anyone but Satan, the destroyer and accuser of the brethren. This paper is called the "View…" because it is just that, the view of the editor and pastor of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church. We welcome your comments, corrections and concerns. If we are wrong about an issue, we will admit it and change and we hope you, our readers, will make the same commitment. Proving our individual views is meaningless if our views are not true. The turn of the century Pentecostal movement contained many false doctrines carried over from the denominational world. Trinitarian formula for baptism, sprinkling, eternal security doctrine, and others, yet one by one they have been exposed and corrected. The man who will not take time to examine what he has been taught by comparing it to what the Word of God actually says is walking on thin ice. This paper is dedicated to examining Issue by Issue to help each of us to be ready to meet Jesus Christ. Length of belief does not change lies to truth. If it was good enough for Uncle Fred, grandma, and great-grandpa, it should still be provable by the Word of God today! Just because they believed it and handed it down, doesn’t make it right. But what they believed, handed down, and is still provable in the Word of God, is something we can believe also. |
